Outdoor woodwork prices

Outdoor timber in the UAE has to survive summer heat and salt air, so material grade matters far more than it does indoors. These prices assume treated hardwood or WPC.

Commercial & office prices

Commercial work is quoted after a site survey because access hours, building rules and programme affect cost more than the joinery itself. These are the ranges we typically quote within.

Section 07 — How we price

What changes the price of a carpentry job

Five things account for nearly every difference between a quote and the figures above.

Included in every quote

  • Labour, tools, fixings and consumables
  • Site protection and clearing up afterwards
  • Removal of packaging and offcuts
  • VAT at 5 per cent
  • 90-day workmanship warranty on repairs and assembly
  • Free quotation, including a site visit where needed

Charged separately

  • Materials and timber, shown at cost with the supplier invoice
  • Building access, parking or works-permit fees where a tower charges them
  • Collection of furniture from a store or courier depot
  • Replacement of manufacturer parts missing from the box
  • Making good walls damaged by previous fixings

The five factors that move a quote: the material you choose, which changes bespoke prices more than any other decision; the height and access of the work, since anything above three metres needs a tower or scaffold; the condition of the existing surface, because a wall that will not hold a fixing needs making good first; the volume of work, as a half day is cheaper than three separate visits; and building restrictions, where some towers only permit works between set hours.

Section 08 — Market rates

How these prices compare in Dubai

Published carpentry rates in Dubai generally sit between AED 129 and AED 200 an hour, with general handyman services at the lower end and specialist carpenters at the upper end. Handyman rates look cheaper on paper, but a general handyman charges for the time a job takes rather than the job itself, and flat-pack or hinge work usually takes them longer.

Our AED 150 hourly rate sits in the middle of that range, and most of our work is quoted as a fixed price per job instead, which is where the real difference shows. A sagging wardrobe door quoted at AED 200 stays AED 200 whether it takes forty minutes or two hours. That matters most on repairs, where nobody can tell from a photograph exactly what they will find behind the panel.

We do not run a call-out fee. Several Dubai companies charge AED 100 to 150 simply to attend, deducted from the job only if you proceed, which quietly raises the cost of a small repair by half.

Section 09 — Questions

Pricing questions, answered

The things customers ask before booking.

How much does a carpenter charge per hour in Dubai?
We charge AED 150 an hour for one carpenter, with a minimum charge of AED 150 per visit. Two fitters for a half day is AED 700 and a full day is AED 1,200. Published rates across Dubai generally run from about AED 129 to AED 200 an hour, so this sits mid-range — but most of our work is quoted as a fixed price for the job rather than by the hour.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. Quotations are free, including a site visit where the job needs one. You pay for work carried out, not for a van arriving. If you decide not to proceed after we have looked at the job, there is nothing to pay.
Is VAT included in these prices?
Yes. Every figure on this page includes VAT at 5 per cent, so the number you see is the number you pay. Materials are shown separately at cost, with the supplier invoice, and VAT applies to those in the same way.
Do you charge more for evenings, Fridays or emergency call-outs?
No. Evening slots, Fridays and same-day emergency visits are charged at the standard rate. Commercial out-of-hours work carries no surcharge either, because closing a shop or office during trading hours costs you far more than the labour does.
Can you give a fixed price before starting work?
Almost always. Send photographs on WhatsApp and you will normally get a fixed written price back within about ten minutes during working hours. Bespoke joinery and commercial work need a site survey first, which is free. Once a fixed price is agreed it does not change unless you change the scope of the job.
How do you charge for materials?
At cost, with the supplier invoice shown to you. We do not add a margin to timber, boards or ironmongery. On bespoke joinery the material specification is written into the quotation, so you can see exactly what grade of MDF, veneer or hardwood the price is based on and change it if you want a different finish.
